The Workaround To Overthinking

When you overthink, you jeopardize yourself…

Nathan Dumlao

Every time you overthink, you’re taking precious time away from actually doing the task well, we all not that part. But did you know that overthinking can actually ruin your chances of actually doing something well?

It’s true when you overthink, you’re killing your creativity. Instead of tapping into that creative part of you, you tap into a destructive part of you, where you feel anxious, hesitant and scared.

You must know when you’re about to go from thinking (healthy) to overthinking (not healthy).

By doing this, you’re securing your spot in the discovery of what you actually needed to say or do. As soon as you start overthinking, you ruin your chances of ever doing that thing you wanted to do the right way.

When you overthink, you’re basically telling the world that you rather think than do, and that’s a nasty habit to kick.

So how do you stop yourself from overthinking?

Well, the first thing is to notice when you go from thinking to overthinking. You do this by paying attention to your emotions and feelings as you’re fleshing through a problem. If you start getting nervous, worry, or any other negative emotion while you’re in your head, you’re overthinking.

If this happens, you need to either make the decision on the spot or take a step back and circle back later.

When making the decision on the spot, it doesn’t matter which decision you make sense if you don’t like your decision, the answer is the other choice.

When circling back, you’ll have a fresh new perspective on the problem and your subconscious mind will have had the time to look over the options and making the decision will be easier.

That’s my two cents.

Cheers,

Alex
