If you’re having trouble generating blog post ideas, these ten tactics that we use will ensure that you never run out.

1) Read. A Lot.

every time you read, you fill your mind with awesome ideas that you can use to make your writing better. By reading books by authors you like or are relevant to what you write about, you’re exposing yourself to new writing styles and little nuggets that you may use in your blog posts.

2) Get Into the Habit of Taking Notes

When you are reading something, watching something, or even talking to someone, make sure to remember that little black box you have in your pocket (your phone) and its notes app. At any time, jot down good ideas that you may use for your blog post.

3) Talk to Your Customers

Who knows best what you should write? Your customers. They are the readers that are supporting your vision and your business. If they can tell you what they want to read in your blog, then you can write it.

4) “Copy” What’s Worked for Others

If you see a blog post that you like and that has gotten the type of attention that you want to receive on your blog, don’t hesitate to inspire yourself from that work to write your own. If it’s worked once, it can work again!

5) Do Keyword Research

Your keywords are the driver of your blogs, SEO (search engine optimization). Find the keywords that are relevant to your customer niche market and write blog posts that align with the keywords and phrases that your customers are searching for. Using tools like Google keyword planner is a good place to start.

6) Scan Social Media, Forums and Other Online Communities

People are writing things all over the internet, every day. By joining forums and communities, and following pages and people on social media, you are exposing yourself to a bunch of content that can inspire you to find your next blog post idea.

7) Do Stuff That Other People Are Scared to Do

If you want your blog post to catch new eyes, it needs to stand out. Write something that you’ve always wanted to write about but were too scared to before. That way, you’ll have it done and you might strike gold and find your next avid blog viewers.

8) Encourage Comments and Emails

Feedback is key, especially for blogging. The more feedback you get in the form of comments and emails, the more you can gauge what your audience is really thinking and feeling about what you’re writing. Don’t be afraid to add a CTA (Call-To-Action) at the end of your blog post asking viewers to tell you what they thought.

9) Share Your Experiences (Even Small Ones)

Your experience is what people pay attention to you for. You’d be surprised how something mundane in your life might be a source of excitement in another’s. When something happens that you think may be worth writing about, jot it down for later and write a blog post about it. Sharing, baby!

10) Repurpose Existing Content Into Different Formats

If you know something you’ve written has resonated, use it to make other content, be it another blog post, a micro-blog, a photo, or a speech. People love what people love, so don’t hold back by giving them a little more of it.
